A Study of Exercise Intensity During Playing Badminton and Tennis




Abstract
Using Sir healthy women aged 30 to 55 as subjects exercise intensity was Badminton and Tennis in terms of % Vo2 max, heart rate (HR) and rate of perceived exertion (RPE).
Higher intensity was obtained during rallies and wall practices than in games, and in games singles match was higher than doubles match Intensities for both types of sports ranged from 50 to 90 % of Vo2 max and 120 to 170 beats/min in HR, which seemed to be an adequate intensity for improring Cardiorespiratiry function.
In % Vo2max-RPE relation ship both types of sports showed lower value in RPE than running for each identical intensity.
